Everyone knows about pine, maple and oak wood.  What is parawood?  It is a hard durable wood that is easy to finish. It's strength is equal to that of maple.  Information on this type of wood goes back to South America. Apparently, an Englishman transported some seeds to England and then to the Malay Pennisula.  This was the start of Malasia Rubber Plantations.

All furniture offered on this website is made of solid wood and does not contain particle board.

"Finished" furniture is color described and shown in each picture. "Unfinished" furniture is bare wood.  This line allows you to finish as you please.  You may be an artist and design it exclusively to your wild imagination.  Or, you may want to match it to existing furniture.

We also offer the "Catskill" line which may have a lacquer finish as described OR the piece may have an oil finish.  Although an oil finished piece is classified as "unfinished" the oil is a protective covering and these pieces may be left alone. However, you may wish to finish further. In this case, you MUST finish with an OIL BASE paint or stain.
